Hi, I'm Lisa Riehl

Drawing and painting were my greatest joys growing up, but life took me in a different direction. University, career, and other priorities pushed art to the side, and before I knew it, decades had passed without a single brushstroke.

When I finally decided to rediscover my creativity a few years ago, I felt completely lost. I wasn’t sure where to begin or even what medium to use - watercolour, acrylics, oils? I’d forgotten so much, and my early attempts left me frustrated and wondering if I was too late to rekindle my artistic passion.

I took course after course, investing time and money to find my way back. When I was learning, there were no digital courses - so I had to wait months for each opportunity to come to my city, or I traveled to them. It was a long, messy + expensive journey (but fun too!), and it ultimately led me here.

Today, I’m a successful landscape artist living in Victoria, BC. I specialize in vibrant, impressionistic paintings inspired by Vancouver Island’s natural beauty. My favourite subject is Tofino’s stunning coastline and forests, where my love for camping, surfing, and beachcombing sparks endless creativity.
